Fifth generation Italian winemaker Steve Lubiana established the vineyard in 1991, bringing to Tasmania a family winemaking legacy stretching over 200 years. Stefano Lubiana produces premium cool climate wines from his Tasmanian vineyard site just north of Hobart on the Derwent River. Burgundian varieties are hallmark, but sparkling wine production has also established Steve Lubiana as a force to be reckoned with in Australian premium wine circles.

The vineyard employs an organic approach to viticulture and the innovative use of wild yeasts, barrel and whole bunch fermentation, which makes Stefano Lubiana Wine has become the state’s first certified biodynamic producer.
